Honor Oak is a small south-east neighbourhood, situated between Brockley and Forest Hill. It has become very popular over the years amongst young families priced out of more expensive areas such as Dulwich or Clapham. Since the extension of the London Overground in 2010, there has been a significant impact on the area. With its numerous cafes, independent shops and restaurants, people are starting to recognise that these transport improvements have attracted more people to the area and increased its desirability. Formally known as Oak of Honour Wood, One Tree Hill is one of London’s hidden gems; here, you can find the best views of the city and some interesting tales about the tree. A tale told was that Elizabeth I once rested beneath an oak on the hilltop on a journey to Lewisham, which brought about the names Honor Oak and One Tree Hill. The nature reserve is wonderful for walks and mini hikes, providing exceptional tranquil and peace.

The Garthorne and Devonshire Road Nature Reserve offers a countryside feel to the area.
